Information is a powerful but fluid thing…..there is definitely rioting going on. But the interpretations of what is happening in Stockholm range from days of burning, looting and police being attacked to overblown reporting…..We are told that it is about the youth, mainly immigrants, being upset with the economic situation and the current immigrant policies, and also that the rioting started after a man was shot dead by the police. But Red Ice Creations reports that journalists are being accused of paying kids to burn cars and are blowing the rioting out of proportion. Although some young immigrants involved claim that the journalists told them, “Hey, when you decide to burn a car, film it and we’ll buy it from you”…..obviously this would influence any youth, especially the unemployed, to have some crazy fun and make money too. And then the tabloids get to promote all this commotion. It is even possible to get that snowball effect going. Remember Tupac Shakur talking about how the whole East Coast West Coast gang thing was invented and elevated to ridiculous heights by the Media? The manipulative power they have in relaying news and information to us is enormous.
So Russia Today, the BBC and Sky News report on the daily rioting. The Times of India reports a man stating that there are problems but that people are glorifying the situation. So i included many links for comparison because i seem to be more curious about the reporting than the actual situation. Red Ice Creations seems to be the only one that raises the question of how serious this isn’t. i think that one of the major problems is that there are no investigative journalists anymore, and the integrity of the remaining ones is wanting in many cases…. and then everyone just takes the story from the next guy like that game Telephone we used to play as kids….
